BioLinux is a server for use by faculty, students and friends of UNC's Biology Department. It is maintained by the Vision lab.
Specifications
- 2 Xeon processors
- 2 GB memory
- 60GB disk space
- A variety of bioinformatics tools are installed (see below for a listing)
- Your work is stored and backed up using the University's AFS file system, allowing easy use of StatApps and other UNC computing resources
- Account access via your ONYEN, so there is not another password to remember!
If you are new to Biolinux, and wish to open an account for yourself, go to "Account Setup" below. If you wish to use Biolinux for a class or for your lab, please contact Todd Vision (tjv@bio.unc.edu) and specify what your needs are (ie what software you wish to use).
